THE COMFORT ZONE MYTH

ALL GROWTH HAPPENS OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE

Ugh. How many times have you heard that one?

It's not that there isn't some truth to it, but for many people, it creates dread and apathy as it all sounds too hard. Or it creates a false sense of just leaping out of your comfort zone (where you perform best) and going for it! Only to have the heat on and allow your subconscious mind to sabotage your efforts and make you do something or feel something that has you running back to the safety of your comfort zone thinking:

"I'm not doing that again!"

Well, that sucks!

You have been set up for failure...

What if you could bring success into your comfort zone instead of jumping out to get it?

Well the same process that helped you become who you are today, is the same process you can use to become (success) who you are capable of being...al you need to do is do it by design, instead of default and circumstance.

Yes, your comfort zone was built in most cases by default and circumstance. And most people end up settling with that because they have tried to "step outside" only to feel the heat and return rapidly back to where they were (and sometimes further backward).

Identify what success looks like for you. Who do you need to BECOME? What results would you like that you don't HAVE in life? How would that person BEHAVE (it's just BE and HAVE together)? Then, the next thing is the one most people forget...what thinking would drive that behaviour?

Then take that one thought and one action and push the boundary of your comfort zone.

Then do it again...and again...and again...

If I want to be able to do the splits, I could just drop to the floor, as I will likely tear my groin. That's what jumping outside your comfort zone feels like. However, if every day I stretch a little and push a bit further than the day before, I will eventually be doing the splits.

Focus on the steady, progressive increase of your capabilities and your capacity for greatness... and you will become comfortable with the new level of success.
