INADEQUATE OR ANXIOUS LEADER?

leadership Aug 17, 2022

The last time I felt inadequate or anxious as a leader was just over 2 years ago. The world had just rolled into a global pandemic. It turned virtually every business on its head and had every leader reeling as to what to do next.

Many of us, for the first time in a long time, or ever, had no clue what to do. We felt unprepared, inadequate, and anxious as our teams were looking toward us for leadership. We were forced into this position by default or circumstance. And a majority of us were in it together.

We could find comfort in going through this together WeAreInThisTogether was all the rage.

So today, when I see a leader feeling anxious, or inadequate because they are putting themselves INTENTIONALLY in danger of learning something new...

I applaud you. I celebrate you. I support you. I got you.

Your business will never evolve if you don't. There will be no room, no space or capacity for your team to evolve if you don't.

When you go first, your team can go further.

Push yourself to the edge of your comfort zone. Stretch the boundaries of it. All discovery happens at the edges.

- a Clarism

When you lead with vulnerability, you show your team it's ok to not know, and it's ok to learn at any stage or station of life and business...as a matter of fact, it's more than ok...it's critical to maintain relevance...

Creating and allowing LearningMoments and CoachingMoments are what give you momentum.

You are a work in progress that will cause a shift in the progress of your work.

Anxiety and or feelings of inadequacy are real. I see you in them and acknowledge them. The fact that you keep going is why I celebrate you.
